kaelyn richards is an illustrator and

designer based out of los angeles, Ca.

Thanks for stopping by, I’m Kaelyn, an illustrator and designer based out of Los Angeles, California. For the past 5 years I have been working my dream job for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a visual designer amongst a small team called Creative Studio. My work encompasses everything from conceptualizing and illustrating to designing and managing projects through production. My core focus is exploring how the strategic integration of art and design can educate and engage the world with our daring missions, breaking down complex scientific and technical concepts so they are accessible to everyone.

Outside of work you can find me exploring my creativity independently through a variety of mediums. When I need a break from screens, I’m working on new crochet projects, stained glass, or taking a walk around my neighborhood to pet all the local cats.

I am not accepting freelance work at this time, I appreciate your understanding!

Disclaimer: Any work posted from my role at NASA/JPL is to simply showcasing the work I do there and not intended to solicit freelance work. If any freelance offers that resemble the work I do for NASA/JPL will be politely declined for conflict of interest.
